Updo Hairstyles

When it comes to formal events like weddings, proms and parties, most women would like to have some sort of updo hairstyle. Not everyone can wear an updo, though. If you pay attention to celebrities at formal events, you will notice that there are many that almost never wear updo hairstyles.

One very good reason to not wear an updo hairstyle is the fact that updos draw attention to facial features that might otherwise go unnoticed. A drastic and tight updo can make any wrinkles that you have on your face or neck appear quite obvious.

There are more subtle updos that are softer and more versatile for everyone, such as a simple chignon. This involves gather all of the hair into a low ponytail and gently twisting the end of the ponytail until it coils into place. Then you pin the hair in place using several bobby pins.

For added dramatic effect, leave out a few wispy strands around the face and perhaps pin curl these small pieces of hair for that extra glamorous look.
